Rick Koonce was saved when he was twelve years old and surrendered to preach at age fifteen. He followed God's leading to become the senior pastor at Val Verde Baptist Church on January 31st, 2010. He and his wife, Kristi, were married on June 13th, 1998. They have been blessed with four children, Rebekah, Josiah, Hudson and Jackson.

Rev. John Ortiz is a graduate of Midwestern Baptist College and has been on
staff since February 2003. Bro. Ortiz leads our Bus and Spanish Ministry, as
well as overseas all of our maintenance needs. Bro. John is a tireless worker
with a true servant’s heart.

Rev. Dan K. Davis is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in Secondary Education. Upon completion of his teaching degree he became associate pastor and Principal of Brooklyn Heights Baptist Church and Christian School in Americus, Georgia. Bro. Dan served for five years as an associate pastor and was then called as the Senior Pastor in 1986. Bro. Dan served as Senior Pastor until 1999 when he accepted the call to Bethel Baptist Church in Cartersville Georgia. Following the clear leading of the Lord, Bro. Dan resigned as Pastor from Bethel in January 2006 to follow the Lord’s leading to join us at Val Verde Baptist church. Bro. Dan has been married to Nancy since June of 1975 and they have four sons. Brent  Stancil

Dr. John Walker (Brent) Stancil is a graduate of Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan. After graduation, he served as an assistant to Dr. Tom Malone, Sr. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church also in Pontiac. He served three years in Michigan before accepting the call to Val Verde Baptist Church in July of 1997 until May of 2009. At that time, following God’s clear leading, he assumed the pastorate of Community Bible Baptist Church. Preacher, as he is known by his congregations, conducts revival meetings and Bible conferences across America as well as in several foreign countries. He is also a sought after youth and college preacher conducting Bible College and Christian school revivals throughout the year. We are confident that you will enjoy his relevant Bible preaching and teaching as well as his warm and caring personality. Pastor Stancil is married to the former Miss Valerie Ware and they have three sons, Quinn, Collin and Grant, and one daughter, Madeline. Was called to Florids to pastor Community Bible Baptist Church.

HE TEACHES IN THE BIBLE DEPARTMENT AT MIDWESTERN BAPTIST COLLEGE IN PONTIAC, MICHIGAN. BESIDES SERVING ON A NUMBER OF OTHER FUNDAMENTAL BOARDS, HE IS ALSO A COOPERATING BOARD MEMBER OF THE SWORD OF THE LORD. PASTORS WHO HAVE HAD DR. Dr. Shelton  Smith

Dr. Smith, a native of Kentucky, was born December 4, 1942. He was saved in September 1951. He announced his call to preach on January 6, 1957 as a fourteen year old high school freshman. A pastor for 34 years, including seventeen years at the Church of the Open Door (independent Baptist) in Westminster, Maryland, he led the Church of the Open Door to grow from fewer than 200 per Sunday to an average exceeding 1,500 per Sunday and more than 3,000 members with high days exceeding 2,000 several times a year. Hundreds were saved and baptized each year. Dr. Smith is married (47 years) to Betty Elaine (Womble) Smith. They have two children, Davina and Marlon, and six grandchildren, Jessica, Nicole, Susanna, Caroline, Jonathan and Daniel.
